Event Details

The Obama administration sees the drug-related violence sweeping Mexico as a growing threat to U.S. national security and has launched a broad review of steps the military and intelligence community could take to help combat what U.S. officials describe as a "narcoinsurgency"; one problem with increased intelligence collaboration: U.S. agencies have been wary of sharing some intelligence because of concerns that some of their Mexican counterparts may be on the payroll of the cartels.  Drug related violence and killings have increased recently causing additional concerns and attention to our southern border.

We invite you to join us for the exclusive video release of the Center for Immigration Studies' next 12 minute mini-documentary, Hidden Cameras on the Arizona Border 3:  A Day in the Life of a Drug Smuggler, featuring WHS member Janice Kephart's latest work on how drug cartels move their product through Arizona.  Ms. Kephart obtained much of the footage for the film by traveling herself into a well known drug running corridor in central Arizona in mid-June 2010.  She also directed, wrote and narrated the film, revealing the latest developments in drug smuggling.  She will discuss the making of the film, where we stand on border security today, and be available for questions.  Ms. Kephart's prior film, Hidden Cameras on the Arizona Border 2: Drugs, Guns and 850 Illegal Aliens, received extensive press coverage on FOX National News and affiliates, radio and print news.  Since the Hidden Cameras 2 release in mid-July 2010, the film has received over 525,000 views.
